| So what was the big issue at your school this week? Was it who is dating who? Was it the upcoming dance? Was it how unfair your biology test was? Were people talking about the normal things, or was there something different discussed this week?
At schools across the nation, Hispanic kids walked out of classes to protest an immigration bill that goes before the United States Senate. Congressmen have weighed in, school principles have shared their opinion. What does the church say? On Saturday night, we're going to explore some of the issues of immigration and what the bible says about such things. Of course we're also going to worship God,e at food, laugh and have a great time as always.
If you have opinions about the immigration bill or the student walk out this week, post your thoughts!

| When the Israelites were wandering in the desert, without food, they began to wonder if they should have stayed as slaves in Egypt. Sure they were slaves but at least they had their food! But God provides food for the Israelites. They see it and call it Manna--which means, "what is it?"
God provides for God's people, but does so in a way that is mysterious...the Israelites cannot figure out what it is--but they know it's from God.
Have you ever experienced God in such a way? Do you think that God always provides what you need or does God fall shrot sometimes? Is it God's responsibility?

| A call to prayer….
As a
community in Christ we are called to pray for one another at all times,
and in times of need we are called to pray with a particular focus. Your prayers are needed at this time.
Over the last few weeks, our Senior Pastor, Reverend Bobby
Baggett, has experienced a rather sudden onset of weakness in both his left leg
and left arm. He was admitted to the
hospital yesterday (Thursday, March 16) for testing which resulted in the
diagnosis of a small tumor in the central portion of his brain. Bobby is
currently receiving treatment to reduce the swelling around the tumor and will
undergo further testing to determine a course of treatment. (The testing may include a biopsy of the
tumor at some time in the next few days.)
Bobby is currently in Harris HEB Hospital.
He is in good spirits; enjoying watching March Madness Basketball games;
and directing the church staff from his hospital room! You may send him an e-mail greeting by
accessing the Harris Hospital website at
www.texashealth.org
We will keep the community updated as we
have information. Please pray for Bobby
and his family as they experience this time of uncertainty.

| This Saturday we'll talk more about the pursuit of truth (veritas is Latin for "truth"). We'll use the Bible, Philosophy and The Matrix to look at the pursuit of truth and explore (but not necessarily answer) some of the following questions:
- Is truth something we find, stumble upon or do we get to it in a different way?
- Does truth ever change?
- What tools are out there to help us in our journey for truth?
Stop by veritas... on Saturday to explore the nature of truth while worshipping God in an intimate setting. veritas... begins at 6:00pm and is hosted by Richland Hills United Methodist Church, 7301 Glenview Dr, North Richland Hills, TX 76180
| a new worship gathering for a new generation of worship
Welcome to veritas... In just a few short weeks we launch a new worship gathering that will be more than just video screens and a band. We're looking to craft the kind of worship that matters. It'll be more than a praise concert...more than platitudes of faith.
We are looking for worship that struggles with faith
We're looking for worship that wrestles with God.
We're looking for worship that challenges us to be moved by God--from one spiritual place to another.
We're looking for worship that will change our lives and make a real difference.
U2's Bono said in Rolling Stone, "our definition of art is the breaking open of the breastbone, for sure. Just open-heart surgery. i wish there was an easier way. but in the end, people want blood and I'm one of them."
The way Bono defines art is the way we hope to (re-)define worship.
Wanna learn more? Stop by any Saturday, starting March 4th. 6:00. 7301 Glenview Dr in N Richland Hills TX.
